Sabres GM says no deal for Andrew Ladd

Buffalo Sabres general manager Tim Murray said Monday that he has not reached a deal with the Anaheim Ducks for Andrew Little.

Murray said in a news conference Monday that Little is “not a top-six defenseman and certainly not a first-line defenseman.”

“I don’t think that’s what our focus is in the short term,” Murray said.

“We’ve had some talks.

“But I don’t see Andrew as a top 6 guy, not a top six defenseman, and certainly definitely not a defenseman who’s a first line guy.””

Little, 23, has been a healthy scratch in the last two games of the season, but his play has improved significantly since being sent down. “

Little, 23, has been a healthy scratch in the last two games of the season, but his play has improved significantly since being sent down.

He scored one goal in five games and registered one assist during that span.

The Sabres, who had a 2-4-1 record in their previous five games, sit in eighth place in the Pacific Division with 48 points.
