The farm share value of the Lions is expected to be around $30 million per year, according to the team’s official website.
That figure is roughly equal to the average value of a farm, which is around $15 million per farm.
The value of Lions farm share is a good sign that the franchise will be profitable going forward.
And it’s not the first time a team has been able to put a farm on the market for $30M per year.
In 2017, the New Orleans Saints traded their 2018 first-round pick to the Cleveland Browns for a 2019 first-rounder and a 2019 second-rounder.
In 2018, the Atlanta Falcons traded their first- and second-round picks to the Miami Dolphins for the 2019 second round and 2019 third round.
And the Chicago Bears traded their 2019 first round pick to San Francisco for 2019 second and 2019 fourth round picks.
The team will have to wait to see how the 2019 draft shakes out before deciding if it will be worth the $30+ million.
